Seven writers from across the country came together one evening to discuss the many facets of climate fiction. Earthbound: Climate Stories from South Asia, published by The Storiculture Company is an anthology of twelve stories by emerging writers from across India.
Edited by Alina Gufran, author (No Place to Call My Own) and filmmaker, these stories are about people trying to build their lives when resources run dry; when living isn’t possible anymore. In times of scarcity, the faultlines within the society widen, leaders stick to their propaganda and people turn against each other. This anthology shows what it takes to be a human in a degrading world.
In this conversation, moderated by Monisha Raman and introduced by J Shiruti, editor Alina and contributors Prthvir Solanki, Prashant Vaze and Ayushi Dubey dissect their work and speak of dynamics of climate fiction and how stories help us face the possibilities when the future seems bleak.
