Shortlist Methodology

Process 1

Books in this category will be broad covering Environment, ecology, history, activism, leadership in science, technology, policy, among others

The books selected will be those published between 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2020.

We shortlisted 25 books based on reader rating and reviews

Of these, the shortlisted 5 will get the highest average rating and reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and Flipkart.

Process 2 – by the Jury

All 5 books now have equal points when we begin the selection process

This is to eliminate biases, the author’s popularity, and a vast difference in marketing spend.

On a score of 1 to 5 (1 minimum – 5 maximum), the jury gives points based on each of the following three criteria. (Even decimals are used)

Criteria one – How original is the theme of the book?

Criteria two – How this book could be a game-changer, a major influencer, how inspiring is the story to its readers, how useful is the content of the book to its readers.

Criteria three – Ease of reading and style of writing

The book that gets the highest average of the scores from these criteria will be declared the winner.
