A.R.Vasavi is a Social Anthropologist, currently with the Punarchith Collective. Her academic interests are in the fields of agrarian studies, sociology of India, and education studies. Her books include ‘Harbingers of Rain: Land and Life in South India’ (1999), ‘Shadow Space: Suicides and the Predicament of Rural India’ (2012), and more recently “Differentiation and Disjunction: Interrogating India’s Education System” (2022).
